- European statistical datas

A survey IFOP, carried out for Meetic in 2005 draws a contrasted landscape of expectations and evaluations of the love life. 9 Europeans out of 10 estimate that they are happy in their life, and 8 out of 10 in their love life.

Women around about thirty, all countries confused, leave gaining on the two tables! However, the total results indicate that the women find more difficult than men, to make friends on the Web, and find the soul mate is even more difficult!
On the other hand, the difficulties are differently perceived according to the age: In France and Spain: all the age groups are concerned In Germany, it is rather a difficulty for the young people. In Great Britain and in Italy, oldest are more numerous.

Spanish is most enthusiastic about the use of Internet for dating and searching love, and Italian remains the most reserved. French as for them, places themselves in second position… Each one agrees to find this mean little romantic, but they put up with it because they think that it is a practical and modern means adapted to evolution of manners.
Approximately 80% of probed estimate that there are traps: “one does not know on whom one can bump”, but curiosity remains much more justifying that the apprehension and more than 60% think that interesting datings are possible.
70% of Spanish estimate that Internet can help effectively to cross the distances between people, but only 12% of the Italians think that they will find the soul mate there, and only 5% of them admit that they would have recourse to find love. They are the Europeans champions of the skepticism…

IFOP/Meetic study shows that an European on five - and 43% of the Spaniards judge that Internet is “the fast and most effective means to meet the soul mate today “! - thus making an entry noticed in the pallet of the possibilities of meeting… as well as the evenings between friends or the meetings within the company.
At the time when this investigation is carried out, the phenomenon of web dating is still recent and often badly known. This result is thus particularly encouraging for the sites of meetings in general and Meetic in particular which in addition has just confirmed its place of leader in Europe so much from a quantitative viewpoint(single visitors and pages seen) that qualitative (duration). The IFOP/Meetic study concludes on this very positive note: “there will be more and more datings”
all the results
