Masturbation statistics

In the Sixties, according to the Kinsey report , 95,4% of the 18 year old men and 46,3% of the women, would have practised the masturbation. The proportion is probably slightly nowadays higher, but especially it seems that the boys start to masturbate more and more early, even if they do not ejaculate. The average age of the first masturbation ranges between 12 and 14 years for the American, English and Australian teenagers, and they would practise it approximately 12 times a week.

It is necessary to remain careful with regard to the numbers because they are not always directly obtained from interested people but from adults of their entourage: parents and teachers. The tendency is to minimize the practice of the masturbation for ideological reasons but also probably by ignorance. If it is considered that the masturbation cotributes to discover sexuality, one can estimate that quasi totality of the teenagers had tryied it…

In 2002, an survey carried out by a Canadian University shows that 94% of the men masturbate regularly before the 20 years age. The more old the practise is, the more frequent it stays. These men generally continue to masturbate more or less regularly, even if, in addition, they have sexual intercourse with a partner. It is only after 40 years that some give up the masturbation.
